Don Bosco Cairo Celebrates the Feast of Mary, Help of Christians
In an atmosphere filled with prayer, faith, and love, we celebrated on Sunday, May 24, the feast of Our Lady, Mary Help of Christians—a devotion that held a special place in the heart of our Father and Teacher, Saint John Bosco.
Don Bosco always turned to the Virgin Mary, seeking her intercession and protection and trusting in her help at every step of his mission.
For Don Bosco, Mary was a loving mother, a faithful friend, and a teacher who always guided him closer to God. He firmly believed that the achievements of his educational and spiritual mission were not the result of his efforts alone, but were made possible through the help and intercession of the Virgin Mary. With deep confidence, he would often say:
“Trust in Mary, Help of Christians, and you will see what miracles she will do.”
The Solemn Mass was presided over by Fr. Simon Zakarian, Regional Superior of the Salesians in the Middle East, and was celebrated in an atmosphere of deep faith and spiritual joy. The faithful gathered in prayer, entrusting themselves to the maternal care and intercession of Mary, Help of Christians.
The celebration concluded with a solemn procession honoring Mary, Help of Christians, accompanied by candles and hymns. It was a deeply moving moment of prayer, reflection, and hope, as we lifted our hearts and asked that her intercession and blessing may always remain with us.
May Mary continue to guide and protect our lives, just as she accompanied and strengthened Saint John Bosco throughout his journey of holiness and service.
Mary, Help of Christians… pray for us.
