Salesian Institute Don Bosco takes pride in educating young Egyptians in the technical and vocational field by offering several training study programs built upon high-quality Italian standards and leading to a formal diploma recognized by the Italian, European and Egyptian authorities. The Educational system at Don Bosco Cairo institute works on the preparation of qualified technicians and operators over a regular 5-year academic course (ITI) or a 3-year academic course (IPI).
ITI
5 Years Technical Training
The five years technical training for electrical and mechanical distinguishes itself for the high level of training offered, and aims at preparing the student as a qualified technician (assistant-engineers).
During the 1st and the 2nd grades, students follow linguistic courses (Italian, English and Arabic) and scientific courses (History, Biology, Math, Physics and chemistry) as well as technical drawings in both departments (Electricity and
Mechanics). Within the start of 3rd year, Students select one of over the three as a specialization:
- Electrical Technician
A specialization in ITI
An Electrical Technician will be able to interpret the productive, managerial and commercial problems of a company, understand users’ manuals and various technical documents, prepare brief reports in multiple languages, participate in the testing, management and control of the most complex electrical systems, design, produce and test complete electrical systems. - Mechanical Technician
A specialization in ITI
A Mechanical Technician is able to read and interpret functional schemes and diagrams of industrial plants, able to operate principles of hydraulic machines, design parts of simple mechanical groups, install and maintain industrial systems, and use information technology to participate in the management. - Information Technology Technician
A specialization in ITI
An information Technology Technician will be proficient in programming languages and network management, software production and management, operation of data processing systems, implementing and designing strategies to solve corporate needs, develop and process custom procedures for different data acquisition systems, and database management.
IPI
3 Years Industrial Training
The three years professional industrial training aims at offering the student basic industry skills and competences both in the Mechanical and electrical fields.
It is divided into four specializations:
- Electrical Operator
Specialization in IPI
An Electrical Operator is able to install, test and handle the maintenance of electrical lines, Panels and automatic control equipment, to carry out and repair electrical installations of civil use and small digital automatic equipment. He is aware of the principles of operation and performance of electrical machines, transducers, automatic devices, production techniques, and programmable automatic equipment. - Mechanical Operator
Specialization in IPI
A Mechanical Operator is able to interpret a technical design and derive the necessary information to subsequently be able to execute processes on traditional machine tools and CNC, Capable of undertaking controls, maintenance and preparation of work instruments, He is also aware of the general elements of electronics, and informatics for the use of automatic commands. - Automotive Operator
Specialization in IPI
An automotive operator is able to disassemble and install parts of a car, overhaul the engine and use a diagnostic device (G SCAN). He is also capable of detecting, diagnosing and fixing cars with problems. - Welding and Turning Operator
Specialization in IPI
A welding and turning Operator is able to use oxygen welding, welding of electricity, welding of oil pipes, and welding of carbon dioxide and argon.
