In line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to equip young people with the skills needed for the labor market, Minister of Labor Mohamed Gebran met today, Monday, with a delegation from the Italian Salesian Institute “Don Bosco” in Cairo to discuss activating the free training scholarships renewed for the second consecutive year under a cooperation protocol between both sides.
The meeting was headed by Father Thomas John Leo, Regional Delegate of the Salesians of Don Bosco in the Middle East.
The Minister confirmed that the program successfully trained 1,732 young men and women in 2024 across 28 high-demand professions, and aims to graduate 1,424 new trainees in 2025. So far, 18,000 applicants have applied for the scholarship.
