Job Description
Please note: Egyptian nationals are encouraged to apply.
Duration: 25 months
Deadline of submission is July 20th, 2025, at 5:00 PM
The project CREARE (Competences and Resources for Technical Education and Job orientation for Refugees and Egyptians) aims to strengthen professional skills and job placement opportunities for young people, Egyptians and refugees, in a context characterized by growing vulnerability, high rates of unemployment or underemployment, and poor prospects for socio-economic inclusion. The project, carried out in partnership with the Don Bosco Salesian Technical Institutes, a renowned professional training center with two locations – Cairo and Alexandria – and in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Manpower and UNHCR, the United Nations agency for Refugees, encompasses three complementary axes: on the one hand, strengthening of quality technical training and employment opportunities for young and very young people through the improvement of vocational education offer and the strengthening of the employment offices of the Don Bosco Institute, in the most promising sectors for the job market; on the other, the offer of qualification modules in the handicraft sector for refugees and members of the host community, to facilitate their access to income opportunities through the promotion of social and solidarity entrepreneurship and the principles of Fair Trade. Young Egyptians and foreign refugees in Egypt, driven by a condition of economic and social marginalization and limited opportunities for decent work in the country, are attracted to illegal migration paths, of which they do not fully know the risks to their own lives: CREATE yes aims to provide correct information, through specific awareness-raising actions aimed at young Egyptians and their families, migrants, refugees and the host community (with a strong participatory and gender mainstreaming approach) on the risks of illegal migration and on the alternatives offered by the territory and therefore contributes to reducing the causes of irregularity migration through the creation of socio-economic inclusion opportunities for refugees and potential migrants in Egypt, in line with the 2030 Development Agenda and the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants.
