Minister of Labor at the Italian Salesian Institute:
Cooperation to develop youth skills and link their training to the needs of the labor market, in implementation of President Sisi’s directives.

The Minister of Labor, Hassan Shehata, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the Ministry opens its arms to cooperate with all development partners at home and abroad, to achieve common goals. The Minister explained that the issue of vocational training and qualifying young people for future professions, or those needed by the labor market, is a main goal. Among the goals of the Egyptian state, citing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to develop the skills of young people and link their education and training to the needs of the labor market.
This was in the presence of the Institute’s Regional Agent for the Middle East, Father Pietro Bianchi, the Institute’s Director in Cairo, Father Pedro Garcia, and representatives of the Italian Embassy, Deputy Ambassador Pietro Facanti Berco, and Dr. Federico Novellino, Consul General at the Embassy, and the Educational Coordinator at the Embassy, Dr. Anna Lisa Wagner. And leaders from the ministry, specialists in these files, and a number of representatives of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The minister toured the institute’s laboratories, workshops, and classrooms and urged the students and trainees to work hard and develop their skills.
The Minister concluded his speech by emphasizing that the historical relationship in all fields between Egypt and Italy, and the political leadership of the two countries is keen to consolidate it, necessitates that we take a new path towards more joint work with the “Salesian Don Bosco” Institute in Cairo, which was founded in 1926. To play his role in training and education in professions needed by the labor market, and together to continue the process of that historic cooperation between the two countries in the field of technical, vocational and industrial training, which comes in implementation of the cultural cooperation agreement between the two governments on January 8, 1959, as well as the protocol signed between the two countries on March 28, 1970.”
The protocol aims to cooperate between the two sides in developing all vocational training centers affiliated with the Ministry, raising their capacity, building the capabilities of trainers, enhancing professional competence, and the competitiveness of graduates and job seekers in the technical and craft fields, in accordance with international standards… and training a number of job seekers in accordance with To nominate trainees who want to work, or young graduates, or candidates for training-the-trainers programs whose goal is to enroll them in the institute’s training programs, in addition to cooperating in organizing and preparing employment forums for those who have completed training programs or others in the labor marketو Also, equipping the vocational training centers targeted for development with equipment and devices, and providing a list of data for trainers working in the training centers affiliated with the Ministry in the areas of training targeted to be developed in order to take evaluation procedures and raise efficiency, and for trainers accredited by the Institute to carry out the training process in the centers affiliated with the Ministry.
