Fr. Pedro Garcia, the director of the Salesian Don Bosco Institute, led a group that was greeted by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. In the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabbagh, Advisor to the Minister of Technological Education, to deliberate on potential cooperative efforts.
Dr. Ayman Ashour talked about how to work with the Don Bosco Institute to take advantage of its technical education skills and resources. In order to achieve the suggested collaboration horizons between the two parties, including scientific specializations and training initiatives, the Minister oversaw the creation of a strategic action plan.
The Minister acknowledged the Don Bosco Institute’s long history in technical and technological education, as well as its more than a century of experience in Egypt. The Minister also stated that the Ministry welcomes the Institute to join the Egyptian technological education system as a partner and to take advantage of the illustrious Italian experience in this area of education.
The possibility of working with Grifols Egypt to work in the pharmaceutical industries, specifically with plasma and its derivatives, and the possibility of collaborating with the institute, technological universities, and industrial partners in various technological specializations were also discussed during the meeting.
Father Pedro, on the other hand, emphasized the Institute’s willingness to collaborate with technological universities, pointing out that the Don Bosco Institute has been working for over a century to support technical and vocational education and provide hands-on training. He also mentioned the Institute’s goal to increase the amount of Italian language instruction provided through technological education and to give students training opportunities in Italian academies, citing the need for skilled workers in a variety of specializations on the Italian labor market as well as collaboration in the training of trainers (TOT).
Fr. Thomas John Leo, the Institute’s deputy director and financial officer, Mr. Rami Halim, the Institute’s Egyptian director, and Dr. Magdy Amin, the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Grifols, were present at the meeting.
