On Saturday, December 7th, the Don Bosco Accademia celebration took place in Cairo to mark the anniversary of the Sunday Schools founded by Don Bosco. On December 8th, 1841, 183 years ago, Don Bosco met his first young student, Bartolomeo Garelli, welcoming him into the first Salesian playground in the world.
Since that encounter, the Salesian work has grown and is now present in 133 countries.
Don Bosco School in Cairo celebrates this event annually, focusing on the talents of young people and their artistic abilities. This year, 36 students participated in 4 categories: singing, music, drawing/painting, and acting.
We congratulate the winners of this edition of the academy.
